We all need to regularly check ourselves for how unmet expectations might be affecting all of our relationships, especially whether we have slipped into being unrealistic. But we also need to check ourselves on this issue in our relationship with the Lord. As we see in this passage, Jesus dealt with unrealistic expectations that He was not going to meet, and in response to this problem that He saw, He told the truth of what to expect in His departure and at His return.
