We now come to a portion of Luke that many people assume is prophecy from Jesus about the end of the world in the next 34 verses. Assumptions aside, I bring what I believe is the most straightforward and natural understanding of our Lord’s words here. And to start, we are looking not at the end of the world but at the end of a city, the supposed city of God, in these next 20 verses.
