This last sermon from Titus is a good one for the first Sunday of this new year. Paul makes an abrupt turn to what is personal—what was personal between him and Titus, between the Cretan Christians and those around them, as well as between Titus, the Cretan Christians and Paul’s ministry team. In thinking about the will of God in this last passage of Titus, let’s think about how we need to renew our minds regarding what is to be personal to us.
