Some in those crowds were gladly looking at the glorious things that Jesus was doing and wondering why He did not do it all at once. Right before His ascension, the Apostles, “were asking Him, saying, ‘Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?’” (Acts 1:6, LSB) That question was on their minds and the minds of many others all through His ministry as they marveled at the glorious things that He was doing.
